Sustainability
As a small independent brand, we are committed to continuously striving for true sustainability across our business. With a focus on conscious values and an ethical approach to fashion, we aim to minimize our environmental impact as we grow.
That is our aim, and here are the steps we’ve taken toward sustainability so far:
Materials:
Our aim is to use deadstock fabrics and trims for the majority of our pieces whenever feasible.
Print Techniques:
Digital Printing:
No screens or plates are required (unlike in screen or rotary printing), reducing the need for setup equipment. Printing directly onto fabric ensures precise application, resulting in less wasted ink compared to dyeing. The inks used are certified as Azo dye-free. High-quality inks prevent clogging and minimize waste. This method uses fewer chemicals and less water than traditional printing techniques.
Sublimation Printing:
The artwork is initially printed on transfer paper sourced from sustainably managed forests, which is later recycled through a specialized waste collection service. The dyes used are certified Azo dye-free and are cured using a pressure and dry heat process that eliminates the need for water. This process ensures that no excessive consumables are wasted, making it eco-friendly.
Manufacturers:
European Clothing Production:
Utilizes laser cutting technology to lower costs, enhance fabric cutting and pattern design quality, and shorten production time. Laser cutting offers exceptional precision, minimizing errors, preventing mistakes, and significantly reducing fabric waste.
UK Clothing Production:
Enhancing life chances and creating opportunities for women through ethical and sustainable fashion production. By providing training and employment, they empower women to build resilience and improve their futures. By emphasizing innovative and sustainable practices, they ensure that every product is made with minimal environmental impact. And their circular approach to fashion, which includes up-cycling and re-purposing materials, supports both personal growth and environmental responsibility.
UK Made-to-Order Production:
We collaborate with various UK-based artisans for sampling and production, in an aim to support local independent businesses.
Printed Accessories Production:
They have implemented measures to reduce waste, use eco-friendly inks, and reuse fabrics whenever possible, aiming to minimize landfill through responsible production and promote sustainability awareness among customers. By manufacturing everything in a single UK facility, they keep shipping costs and carbon emissions low, with products made and shipped directly from London. Their process uses minimal water, and they work with the water board to properly dispose of ink waste, ensuring no environmental contamination. Additionally, they produce items only after orders are placed, holding no stock and avoiding overproduction, so nothing is wasted or destroyed.
Fabric Printing Production:
They conduct regular checks on their suppliers to ensure good working conditions and a commitment to producing high-quality fabrics. They are aware of the waste generated in manufacturing and take measures to minimize it. This includes monitoring water and coating use and adhering to the UK’s waste framework directive by employing specialists for waste disposal. Additionally, they have upgraded all factory lighting to LED to reduce electricity consumption, benefiting both costs and the environment.
